Probase Consulting Provides Solutions and Services in assisting customers to customize their Progress-based applications. Probase Consulting also undertake turn key projects to build new applications using Progress 4GL technologies.

Probase Consulting provides on-site and off-site services depending on the customer's preference. For on-site services, the services will be provided based on time-and-materials basis. For off-site services, the services can be based on fixed price basis.

The following areas are covered:

1. Customizing existing Progress based application.

2. Develop add-on modules to existing Progress based application.

3. Integrating existing Progress based application with external system.

4. Creating reports from existing Progress based application.

5. Develop a new application.

APPLICATION DEVELOPMENT METHODOLOGY

Probase Consulting uses proven Application Development methodology. This methodology is based on experience in the real word and the knowledge of what really works. Probase Consulting project managers are experienced in the execution of this methodology and as a result we have been able to deliver consistent results.

Our methodology is based on a 5 phased approach.

Phase 1 - Analysis

Project team will be assembled and the project scope defined and agreed. During this phase of the project, the business requirement are gathered and analysed and an initial project plan created, high level milestones and deliverables will be defined.

Phase 2 - Design

Based on the analysis of the user requirements, the consultant will design the application interfaces, create the programming specifications. During this phase, the development and test environments will be established. Once approved, the design specification will be used to develop a model for "proof of concept" to validate the system design. Detailed test plans will be defined.

Phase 3 - Develop

Design specifications are handed to developers to develop the application and perform unit and integration testing. System integration test will be carried out to ensure that the impact to existing system is satisfactorily catered for.

Phase 4 - User Acceptance Testing

There will be 2 iterations in this testing cycle. First round testing involve complete test of all aspects of application and identify gaps. Second round of test will be after "gaps" are fixed. To ensure full system is acceptable to business users.

Phase 5 - Deploy

This is where the approved business systems are deployed across the business. During this phase of the project, final data conversions are executed and the project team prepares users for deployment. Accepted system will be frozen and zero system changes. Required data are prepared during this time. Logical break is identified for launching new system.

While Probase Consulting's primary focus is to provide Progress services in Singapore and Asia, we can also accept off-shore development services. On-site services to other regions can be considered on case-by-case basis.
